Bobblehead Christmas Tag

Christmas is getting really close and I need to stock up on tags, so I created a gift tag featuring  Bobblehead Elf by Bugaboo Stamps. I came up with the inspiration for this tag from viewing all the tags on on In My Creative Opinion - 25 Days of Tags 2018

I really love the shaped tags on Day 18, especially the ornament tags by Thi Lam, she made ornament shaped tags.  I used the star shape dies and turned it into a tag.

I cut my tag with Lawn Cuts Christmas trees, 2 layers for the solid tree and 1 layer for the frame. I also cut two stars and tree trunks.

I glued my tree trunk on the middle layer so you can't see where the trunk is glued.  The elf and speech bubble are attached with foam tape.

MFT Sketch Challenge #410

Today I am posting a card I made for the MFT weekly sketch challenge.

As you can see I flipped the sketch a little.  When I saw this sketch I thought of my  Filled with Joy Card Kit from My Favorite Things.  I thought it would be perfect for this sketch.

I choose red glitter card stock for the ornament and a green glitter for the letters.  I had some red and white striped metallic card stock in my stash I had purchased from Michaels eons ago.

I created a textured background with  a Wood Slat Embossing Folder from CTMH.  I added a strip of the striped paper and a thin strip of the green glitter card stock.

I applied the letters with foam tape. and heat embossed the sentiment with Wow Rich Gold embossing powder.  I was going to add some sequins or Nuvo Drops, but for a change I thought the card looked perfect without all the fuss.

Bottle Tag

Today I am featuring Friends Don't Let Friends Wine Alone by Bugaboo Stamps.

I printed my image with my Cricut Explore so I could fussy cut the image.

The sentiment I found on the internet and created a banner file in SCAL5, which I uploaded to Design Space.  Using the PTC feature and my laser printer I printed the sentiment.  I then added black foil to the sentiment using my Minc.

The bottle tag I also created in SCAL5, but could be created directly in Design Space too.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out this weeks Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps.

Hi there,

I created this card for the Pink Fresh October  Challenge.

This month's challenge is fussy cutting/die cutting with the colors shown below.

I used Distress Ink on a acrylic stamping block to smoosh the watercolor background, then splattered some black paint.  My images are colored with my Prismacolor pencils and die cut.  The hummingbird and sentiment are attached with foam tape.

Rock Star

Today's cards were inspired by the weekly sketch challenge at MyFavoriteThings Challenge Blog.

In order for this large star to fit, I had to make a square card that is 5.25" square.  I cut the larges outside in Star stackable in the white.  The star frame fits inside of the outside in star.

I blended Squeezed Lemonade and Salty Ocean around the edges of the white layer.  I blended Squeezed lemonade, Fossizlied Amber and a little Wild Honey on a piece of card stock, then stamped some little stars and added white embossing powder.  I added this behind the white layer so it would show through the cut out star.

The star frame is from a jade colored glitter card stock.  The little stars were cut using some tiny star dies included with the Tag Builder die set.

The girl is colored using my Prismacolor pencils and attached her with foam tape.

Halloween - Bugaboo Freebie Friday

Hello, today I am featuring this weeks freebie Friday release at Bugaboo Stamps.

My image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I was going to do a blended ink background for the night sky, but this image was a little busy for fussy cutting, so I just colored it in.

My sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Joy Window Pane card

Today I am posting a card I made for the MFT weekly sketch challenge.  This one was a little harder to do than others.

I started by creating a window pane in Design Space, so I could get everything lined up.  Then I cut the frame in white, which I added Nuvo Glitter Gloss to for sheen.

Then I cut the frame out of red and green.  I used some distress inks on the squares, but it didn't hold up well.  I used a box of note cards I had purchased at Hobby Lobby, and they must have some sort of film on them.

These note cards are smaller than a 4.25 x 5.5" card, so I had to cut my card base down to that size to fit the matching envelopes.

I die cut out the word JOY from both colors and added the Nuvo Glitter Gloss to these as well.  I used a white glitter card stock for my snowflakes.  I scattered a few clear sequins around for a little interest.

I have been enjoying the Filled with Joy Card Kit I was able to purchase with my free gift card.  I actually was randomly selected a few weeks ago from a previous sketch challenge.

Halloween Bat with Lawn Fawn Woodland Critters Huggers

Today I wanted to share this cute little gift card holder I created.  I was inspired by Lawn Fawn's Tiny Gift Box Bat add-on.

I pulled out my LF Woodland Critter Hugger die set and decided all I really needed was some bat wings and teeth.  So I went to Design Space and found this bat image.  I had to do a little slicing and welding, but I created a set of add-on bat wings.

I cut my hugger out of a dark gray card stock and then sliced off the arms.  The nose is part of the hugger die set, I just cut off the mouth portion of the die cut image.

I wanted to use glitter card stock for the wings, but it is only on one side, so cutting two and gluing them together was a bit bulky.

Before attaching my wings, I used a stylus and foam board to add some embossed details on the wings.  Then using my Prismacolor pencils I colored a little shading and highlights.

I attached my wings to the back of my hugger and then attached the gift card pocket on top, so you couldn't see the wings.

I also used the mouth and teeth from this image.

I have a great little tip, I used Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue (can be purchased at local Wal-Mart or craft store) and added a dot to each of the wing tips on the inside.  I let the glue dry, and this creates a removable glue dot.  This allowed me to place the wings where I wanted them and the glue held them in place, and could be opened without ruining the wings.  I had to add a little scotch tape to the sucker to hold it in place.

Having a Cricut Explore and Design Space is a great addition to the craft room.  It allows you to use your dies in a whole new way.

Challenges:

I hope you enjoyed this great project and will stop by again.

Till next time,

Happy Craftin!

Cute Puppy Pile - Bugaboo Stamps New Release

Hello, today I am featuring this weeks new release at Bugaboo Stamps.

I printed my image a little large so it would be the major focus on my card.  I did a simple embossing on the white layer, with a striped embossing folder.

I colored my image with my Prismacolors, I use Gamsol for blending.  I chose to make all my puppies the same color.

My sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Saturday Card Recipe

Today's challenge at Catch the Bug is a recipe, use 3 buttons, ribbon and 2 images.
I used 3 images Bobblehead Santa, Bobblehead Mrs. Claus, and Bobblehead Reindeer.  I used the PTC feature in Design Space and printed the images on ornaments.  I didn't have any buttons that worked, but I did have these cute little star brads, so they are my substitution for buttons.

The merry was cut from red glitter card stock, I created this image with a system font in SCAL5 and uploaded it to my image library.

Let's Celebrate "Talk Like a Pirate"

Ahoy Maties!

It's time for another Humor Me Wednesday project and if you can believe it there is a  "Talk Like a Pirate Day", which is also today the 19th.  I happened to look it up on the internet and it looks like this is definitely a big deal in some places.  So here is me card, you scurvy dogs.  I am featuring AKV Pirate Treasure from Bugaboo Stamps.

I kept the card simple, and used printed card stock. I added a few colored sequins around the treasure chest, which is overflowing with booty.  I would have added a few empty wine bottles, but this is for the kiddos and not the Captain Jack Sparrow fans.  If you have someone with a birthday on Sept 19th, surprise them with a pirate card.

MFT 2018 Card Design Superstar Contest

The other day I posted my CAS (Clean and Simple) card entry.  Today's I am showing my Innovative Master entry.  All entries have to used MFT product only, with the exception of inks and paper.  I think some of the tools like embossing folders and embossing powder from other companies are ok, at least I hope they are, I used an embossing folder on one of my cards. Any way, you certainly can't win if you don't try, so I thought it is a long shot, but here goes.

Here is what I came up with.

Here is the outside of my card, pretty simple right.  I don't have MFT's cloud stencil, but I do have the Stitched Cloud edge dies, so I used that to make a stencil.  The cloud edge die has stitching on both sides of the cut, so I used the other side as a  layer for the bottom portion of my card.

I cut a tiny little slit on the dragons arms so I could slide the candle in, so he looks like he is carrying the candle.  I attached everything with foam tape to add dimension.  I decided to leave the sequins off, since I could use some masculine cards.

Drum roll please,

As you can see my images all pop-up when the card opens.  I cut little pop-up on another piece of card stock that measured 8x5".  I placed score lines in the center of the brackets and where they attached to the card.  I cut the two sides so the would pop out.  As you can see I made my pop-ups different sizes.   My first pop-out was about 1.25" deep and the others were only 1" deep, so I have two layers.

I placed the candles around randomly and stamped my sentiment on the card layer.  My little dragon on the front flew in a whole bunch of candles.

Supplies:
MFT Die-Namics Stitched Clouds
MFT Die-Namics Outside and In Stitched Cloud Edges
MFT Die-Namics Make a Wish Coordinating Dies

Stamps:
MFT Magical Dragons
MFT Make a Wish

Here is my entry for the Coloring Virtuoso contest.  I didn't create a blog post, I just added it tomy Pinterest board.  Here it is.
This card used the MFT Die-Namics Outside and In Stitched Ovals and MFT Wildflowers stamp set.  The sentiment is from MFT All About You stamp set. I used the masking technique to create my bouquet of wildflowers.  I cut around some of the flower and leaves so they would fall outside the oval.

Stella Says Sketch 9/16/18

Today's card features Gus Fishing from Bugaboo Stamps.

Have you ever had this amazing idea in your head, but when you apply it, it just doesn't pan out.  Well this card was one.  I thought by making my backgrounds clouds and sun, I could hold true to the sketch.
Not by best work.  Oh well, it's done.

I split the sentiment into two parts, and printed it with my laser printer and added black foil.

I created my backgrounds using cut out clouds and a sun stencil, both of which I cut out with my Cricut Explore.

The water layer was cut with my Lawn Fawn Stitched Waves, I cut it into three pieces and glued it to a piece of card stock, then used foam tape to pop up the water layer.

Sentiment on the inside says "Teach a man to fish, and he'lllsit in the boat and drinking beer all day".  This image is perfect for the fishermen in your life.

CAS It Card Challenge

I tried to think out of the box a little for my card submission in the CAS challenge at MFT Stamps 2018 Superstar Card Design.  This is really one of my most difficult things to do, I just have a really hard time leaving white space.  I see so many beautiful cards on the internet, but I am never happy with my results, I think this one made the grade.

First I had to create my background, so I looked at my color wheel and picked three complimentary colors.  I used Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Spiced Marmalade and Twisted Citron.  I used water color card stock and just randomly applied color

I pictured this in my mind and thought how easy is this, well I got a little confused, on my first attempt.  So I had to re-think it, but the first try definitely made me realize there had to be a better way.   My second try was just human error, I forgot to put my cutting plate on top of my paper, now I have a bent cutting die.  I ran it through the machine a few times, and it straitened out some.

The 3rd try worked like a charm.  I do have one little tidbit, watch the placement of your die over the diagonal cut.  I had some really tiny pieces that were very difficult to handle.  Also, apply scotch tape on the back, for the seam and wherever the die is going to be cutting.  This will help your pieces stay together.

Once I cut it properly it was nothing to make.  I did, however, have to run my die through twice, the tape didn't cut through.  After cutting the first layer, I then placed it on top of the second card layer, this allowed me to position my die in the exact same spot.  Now everything will match properly.

I wanted a little dimension, so I cut the word die out of plain white and layered my letters, before placing them in the negative space.  The inside of the letters is only 1 layer.  This added a very little amount of dimension, you could add more layers, if you want it to stand out more.

As you can see you get two for one cards.

My background was created with Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean, Spiced Marmalade and Twisted Citron.  I used water color card stock and just randomly applied color

Just a few Nuvo Crystal drops in Dandelion and it's finished.  I think they came out pretty good.

Bugaboo Freebie Friday

Today's Friday and it's time for another freebie.

This cute little image is great for teacher appreciation week, or just for thanking these wonderful folks for the work they do, shaping those little minds.  They are also perfect for bookmarks.

I pulled out my new Lawn Cuts Stitched Apples to create my card base.  I cut two from cream card stock.  I added a score line to one of these pieces at 1/2" from the top of the apple.    I taped them together to create the card base.

I then cut 1 red apple and applied the stem and leaves.  This was glued to the top of the card base, sandwiching the stem and leaves between them.

I heat embossed my sentiment and applied white embossing powder.  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color the image.

MFT Sketch #402

Here is my card for this weeks challenge at My Favorite Things.

I love this adorable stamp set from My Favorite Things.  It was part of this months new release.  They are simple and easy to color.

The background was created by blending my Distress Oxide ink, then adding a few splatters in the blue ink and some black acrylic paint.

The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder.  My favorite brand in the Wow Fine detail powder, it gives a much crisper image. I attached the sentiment strip with foam tape for some dimension.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #401

Today's cards were inspired by the weekly sketch challenge at MyFavoriteThings Challenge Blog.

For my first card I cut out two ornaments in Design Space (Cartridge: Quilted Ornaments). Instead of using card stock as a layer, I decided to use glitter vinyl.

For the background, I added a very light coat of Distress Oxide ink in Fossilized Amber, and splattered some gold ink.

I applied the inside of the design to the larger ornament. On the smaller one, the cut was a little bit more intricate and some of the pieces came out while cutting, so I removed the design and applied the outer portion of the design. The smaller ornament was attached using foam tape.

I stamped my sentiment in MFT Ink - Cherry Crisp and added clear embossing powder.

Cutting Dies:

My second card, I already posted to my Pinterest board, but thought I would add on this post.

I used Distress Oxides in Blueprint Sketch, Stormy Sky, and Tumbled Glass for the background.

I stamped my sentiment with Versamark and applied gold embossing powder.

I colored my little village with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and applied Nuvo Glitter drops in White Blizzard on the rooftops.

Merry Little Christmas

It's time to start my Christmas projects and I just received all my new products from Lawn Fawn.
I created this cute little tag using:

I cut two tags and scored the top tag right above the stitch line, then I attached the two tags together using a grommet.

The christmas tree was so small I decided to add a little more with the sentiment, from Lawn Fawn Say What? Christmas Critters.  I broke up "merry little christmas into two pieces and just added them staggered instead of perfectly straight.  And as you see I finished it off with a few sequins.

Thinking of You

Today's card is inspired by a My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #400. This is my second card using this sketch.

On this card I used "Beautiful Day" by Simon Says Stamps, which I received in one of my monthly kits.

First I created a little stencil for the stripes using a blank stencil.  On water color paper I applied the stripes using a blue watercolor.  I stamped my large butterfly with a water resistant ink on water color paper then colored it using Altenew Watercolors in a red, orange and yellow.  After the image dried, I re-stamped with Versamark and then added some clear embossing powder, then added Nuvo glitter drops to the little circles on the wings.   I colored the black body in with my Distress Markers in black

The two smaller butterflies were stamped with Distress Ink, in Dried Marigold.

I added a little dimension and color with my Prismacolors.  I details with a white and black  and  gel pen.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Sketch with Stella

Today's card features Gus Birthday - Recount from Bugaboo Stamps.

I split the sentiment into two parts, and printed it on my card layer with my laser printer and added black foil.  I love adding foil to my sentiments that I print on my cards, it looks just like a store bought card.

I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers in a very light color in the background to add more interest to my image.  Gus is colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Sentiment on the inside says "I demand a recount" and I added Happy Birthday, it will be perfect for those over the hill friends.

Oldie but Goodie Unicorn Stamp Set

Today it's Oldie but Goodie day.  So I picked out this cute little image from Bugaboo Stamps, Unicorn Set 2.

I started with a great big word HAPPY, which I cut from a pretty glitter paper with my Cricut Explore.  I used a plain Arial type font, that I did stretch a little.

I used the Lawn Cuts Quilted Backdrop on the upper portion of my card, so the purple would peek through.  I left the bottom plain, so it wouldn't distract attention from my sentiment.  I covered the seam with a piece of black glitter washi tape.

I create digital dies for all of my digital stamps and regular stamps.  So I always upload my image and the digital die to Design Space and use the PTC feature.  I colored the little guy with my Prismacolors and attached him with foam tape.  I also added a little sparkle with my Wink of Stella pens.

I used Lawn Fawn Scripty sayings for my sentiment, which was trimmed down and applied with foam tape. And just a few sequins for my beloved bling,  but only a few, I didn't want to mess up that great background made with the quilted die.

Back to School

Today I am showing a cute little window slider card, inspired by the die from Sunny Studios.

The owl is DS Image #M1341944, Cartridge: Kim Byers - Rule the School.

Here is the inside

My stamped sentiment is from CTMH #D1612 - Teacher Appreciation.    I placed my slider card on top of a regular 4.25x5.5 card base, so we can write a little note on the inside.

I recommend either cutting 2 frames or shims, to place between the card base and slider window.  This lets the slider portion move easier, otherwise it is a tight fit.

Dino-Mite Birthday

Hi everyone,

We are on vacation this week at Bugaboo Stamps, but there are still Freebie Friday stamps each week.  Todays card is featuring today's freebie, see below for links to get yours.

I placed some small clouds I cut out with my Cricut Explore around using Tombow Removable Adhesive.  This tape is great for temporary placement, it rolls right off with your finger.

Then using Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean I created the sky.  I went over my cloud areas really lightly, they were just too white.

I add greenery for tree overhang using the Rose Peonies stamp set in my Gina K. Sunshine and Love StampTV Kit.  I stamped in both first and second generation ink, and add some lighter color also.

The grass and bushes are images found in Design Space.  I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Brown on the dinosaur spots.

Challenges:

CardzTV #60 - Anything Goes

Pop-Up with Gina K.

Hello,

Just a quick post to share my latest card using my Gina K. Designs Sunshine and Love Card Kit.

I first blended a blue background to add some color behind my flowers with Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean.

Then I added some greenery (Rose Peonies Stamp set) right over the blue background.  I used a light green (CTMH - Sweet Leaf), this stamp is also part of the kit.

Then I laid my flowers on my card base and decided I needed just a little more, so I stamped the smaller flowers with CTMH-Canary Yellow and Tangerine right on the card layer.

Both flowers are stamped with the two lightest colors in my Altenew Ink Sets, Cherry Blossom and Shades of Purple. The leaves are stamped with CTMH Ink in Pear.   Then I used my die cuts to cut everything out.

I cut out all the flowers with scratch paper and placed in where I wanted my flowers to mask them off, then stamped the spatter with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke.

I used foam tape to attach both of my flowers to pop them up.  I added a little Nuvo Crystal drops to the center of the flowers and then some Nuvo Jewel Drops around the flowers.

Please excuse the little brown spots on my flowers, they have already started wilting.  Just kidding, I guess I had ink on my fingers, and didn't notice till it was all put together.

Can I get a "Woof Woof"

Today's card features an Oldie But Goodie Funny Pup by Bugaboo Stamps.

Since this is a birthday card, I had to add a cute little party hat for him to wear.  Then I added Nuvo Drops to the collar spikes, eyebrows, nose and the party hat's pom-pom.  You can get the Nuvo drops in very small places if you use something small like a stylus.  Anything small and pointy will work.  Once you have the drop down, use the stylus to drag it out to fill the area.
It  adds dimension and a lot of interest.

My sentiment was printed with my laser printer and I foiled it with Lime green foil.

The inside of the card says, Can I get a woof-woof!  I got my inspiration from a card at Walmart.

Other Supplies Used:
Avery Elle Monsters

MFT Die-namics Stitched Basic Edges

Nuvo Crystal Drops - various colors

PIP Challenge 1831- Anything Goes
