Let's Celebrate Another Year

This cute little birdbrain is part of "Birdbrain Flappy Birthday" image set.

I cropped the image to get only the chick with the balloon.  I use SCAL 4 to trace the image and create a die cut, then I uploaded it into Design Space, where I used the PTC feature to cut out my stamped image.

Heavy Duty Card stock, Paper Studios - white

Well Done!

Here is a quick card I put together using part of a sentiment from one of my digital stamps. See supplies below for the stamp I used.

I printed the sentiment on colored card stock on my laser printer, then foiled it with my AG Minc, which has become my favorite tool, that plus my new laser printer.  With graduations right around the corner, I thought the sentiment said it all.

Digital stamps are perfect for using foil on your cards. Even the smallest print comes out great.  I haven't found any other technique or product that makes foiling easier.  Also, you can add the text to any image in DS, use print then cut,  print with your laser printer and then foil.  I did find that if I removed the bleed when I am cutting a white image with text, I don't get that little shadow on my image.  I have calibrated over and over, my Explore, just doesn't always give a precise cut.  One of these days I may have to call customer service.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Designer Paper - Carte Bella

My Favorite Things Weekly Challenge

Here is a quick card I made combining a sketch and color challenge. Super simple to make.

I created a black circle and added the font in white, printed it on my laser printer to foil.  I used a flash on my camera, so the foil would show up.  The colors are supposed to be in the coral range, they look pink here.

Supplies:

MFT: Rectangle Die-Namics Pierced
Cottage Cutz:  Stitched circle dies
Designer Paper: Echo Park
Enamel Dots - Recollections
Deco Art Foil - Blue
Birthday sentiment - MFT Make a Wish

Challenges:

Stella Says Sketch Challenge

Here is this weeks entry into a Bugaboo Challenge.  This is one of the images I won in the birthday bash.

I purchased a pack of note cards and matching envelopes from Wal-Mart,  I love the bright colors.  I used the note card as the top layer on my card, so now it matches the envelope perfectly.  These envelopes with the note cards only measure 5.5 x 4", so you will need to trim down your A2 cards.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps, "bugutsbdayset".  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color it and added
Nuvo Crystal Drops for dimensional embellishments.  These drops dry and look like you added enamel dots.

Challenges:
Stella Says Sketch #SSS503 - sketch every other week
Crafting Circle - Bugaboo Crafty Challenge #1 - new challenge

Supplies:
Designer Card stock - My Favorite Things
CTMH - colored card stock
Card base - Paper studios - Heavy Duty Card Stock

With Valentine's right around the corner, it's all about hearts and love.  I made this card using my AG dies.  The bells are from a Christmas set, but they work perfect for a wedding card.  I cut it down to just one column of bells.

I used different layers of white and embossed each layer with a different folder.

Paper Studios white card stock
Stamp - CTMH #D1584 Big Hug Occasions

Kissy. Kissy

Just a quick note to enter my take on this week's sketch challenge.

I finally found a laser printer that would connect to my mobile hotspot.  So I printed the sentiment on my laser and used my AG Minc to foil it.  I think I am in love, I have wanted to foil for so long, I tried every method out there and nothing gives the results a laser printer will give you.

The image is "Hogs & Kisses", it is the free stamp of the month image provided by "From the Heart Stamps", for all previous month's participants.   If you don't follow Faith, be sure to stop by and start.  Purchase the monthly stamp and enter a creation on the challenge,  then you are in.  Each month you will get a free stamp, if you participated in the previous month's challenge.  So be sure to get yours and join along.

Curved Edge Cards

I have been admiring all the curved layered cards in Pinterest.  I started browsing the dies and decided I didn't want the rigidness of dies, I wanted to be able to change the sizes and looks, depending on the card.  So I created my own, here is my first attempt at cutting out my files.  These layers have little scallop edges, which cut out fine with my Cricut Explore.

I made my files using Sure Cuts A Lot 4 (SCAL4) and the "Object on Path" feature.  The images below are the open scallop, which I then broke apart and welded to make a closed scallop.  I am working on other designs I will be showing later as I make cards.  The beauty of this file is, I can make it any size I want.  What I don't get is great piercing or stitch lines.

I tried several ways and couldn't make anything cut or score to resemble those dies you purchase.  Other than that, I am very pleased.  I am going to cut out a plain layer in chipboard so I can use my rolling stitch tool to give the impression of piercing.

On this card I found the perfect image in Design Space to show off the curve lines.   I cut out 2 layers in black card stock and 1 layer in black glitter card stock. This allows the image to pop on the front of the card without those tiny pop dots.

Supplies:

Card Stock:  Recollections
Black Glitter Card Stock - Cricut
