Mojo Monday Sketch #445

I saw the Mojo Monday sketch #MOJO445,  this week and had an inspiration.  This week we could do a square or round card.  When I think round and teachers, I think apple.

So I searched for the perfect images in Design Space, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, but I did find something I could use.  So I started slicing and welding, and here is the end result.

I was going to add ribbon, but figured it would be difficult to get a good, clean wrap on rounded edges, so I thought chevron, so I cut two chevron pieces for my cross layer.

The ink seems smudges, but that was because I wiped chalk across the saying like it was written on a chalk board.

My supplies:

CTMH card stock in Ruby and Olive

Thanks for stopping by.

From the Heart Sketch with a Twist #149

It's getting close to the end of the school year and time to show appreciation to the teachers.  After all, they have one of the most important jobs out there.  It takes a very special person to shape and mold young minds.

So for all the teachers out there, a huge "THANKS", you have one of the most thankless jobs there is.  I don't have a youngster anymore, but I have grand kids and I know how hard a teachers job is, I for one could never do it.  Dealing with one child at a time is difficult enough, but a classroom full.

Any way, here is my entry for the #FTHS149, Sketch with a Twist.  I chose the sentiment from the Stamp of the Month "A Time to Bloom".  I used PTC on my Cricut Explore and made the die cut image look similar to a chalkboard.  I smudged it with a little chalk too, just to make it look chalky.

The paper used is CTMH Chalk it Up, the solid colors are Lagoon and Flaxen.  I used my craft stapler to add Thick Twine and added a few little embellishments.  Every card looks better with a little bling.

I will have to send this card home with my grand daughter to give to her teacher.  Hope you like it.

Till next time

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner

Hi Everyone,

I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep up with this blog.  I don't get much traffic, but I decided if I am going to keep entering challenges it is an easier way to link my cards.

It seems when I link via Pinterest or Instagram, my card pictures are tiny.

Here is my latest challenge entry.  It is From the Heart Sketch with a twist, #FTMS147.  You do have to use one of their digital stamps to enter.  Tah Dah!  I won, of course, it was just a random win, but I was also chosen as one of the top three.  That is a great honor, especially, since it was my first attempt at coloring digital stamps.  I think I have found a new passion.  So thank you From the Heart, I enjoyed entering your challenge.

I used CTMH card stock, Penelope and colored my image with Prismacolor Blendable Pencils.

The sentiment and stamp are Birdbrain with Candle from "From the Heart" digital stamps.

Check back each week, I hope to enter at least one challenge per week.  As always, you can see my gallery of work on Pinterest or Instagram.

Till next time,
